North Greenbush- Keith R. Gallup, 78, of Rosemary Drive, died suddenly on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.
Born October 24, 1931 in Schenectady, Keith was a son of Harold and Hilda (Smith) Gallup. He retired from Conrail in Selkirk where he was a car control clerk.
Keith was a United States Marine Corps veteran, serving his country proudly from 1950 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1954. He was a life member of the VFW Post 14000 and the Marine Corps League PLM 9409 of Albany.
His wife, Evelyn (Dauley) Gallup predeceased him on February 28, 2006.
Survivors include his children: Barbara Craig of Victoria, MN, Janet Apple of Troy, NY, Diane Klein of Liberty University, PA, Richard Gallup of Feeding Hills, MA; three sisters: June Lape of Richmondville, Avis Francis of Ayden, NC, Gertrude Culbert of New Milford, CT; and one brother, Mahlon Gallup of Cobleskill; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM (noon) on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, with Rev. Warren Babcock officiating. Friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 6 to 8 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service with full military honors in Summit Cemetery.
