Middleburgh- Kayla M. Urrey, 22, of Wells Ave., died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.
Born July 2, 1993 in Schenectady, she was the daughter of Jennifer L. (Wood) Urrey and Dale F. Urrey, who survive her.
Kayla was a 2011 graduate of Middleburgh Central School and was currently pursuing her nursing degree at Hudson Valley Community College.
For several years, she worked at Crewell Feed Supply in Middleburgh. Kayla enjoyed her horses, showing them as well as riding. She will be remembered as one who was always helping others. Above all, her true joy in life has been her son, Mikey.
Her paternal grandfather, Allan Urrey, predeceased Kayla.
Along with her parents, survivors include her son, Michael J. Cyr, Jr. and her fiancée, Michael J. Cyr, both of Middleburgh; her brother, Ryan Urrey of Middleburgh; maternal grandmother, Kathleen P. Wood of Rotterdam; maternal grandfather, Theodore Wood of Middleburgh; paternal grandmother, Martha Urrey of Middleburgh; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In keeping with Kayla's desire to always help others, she gifted all her organs, as well as bones and tissues so others may continue on with their lives. Her final gift was made to Albany Medical College for research and educational purposes.
A period of visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh. There will be no formal funeral service.
