Warnerville - Kay C. Phelan, 70, of West Fulton Road, died Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Albany Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born August 12, 1941 in Albany, she was the daughter of Arthur R. and Madeline (Klauser) Clissold. Kay was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Middleburgh Central School in 1959.
She had been employed at the former Central National Bank in Middleburgh and Lewis Wilson Insurance Agency prior to returning home to be with her family and become the bookkeeper at the family farm, Boulder Brook.
Kay was an active member at the Warnerville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Donald C. Phelan, whom she married August 15, 1959; her four children: Michael (Donna) Phelan, Nancy (Mike) Spenello, David (Helene) Phelan, and Julie (Steve) Fancher all of Warnerville; her seven grandchildren: Christopher and Nathaniel Phelan, Nicholas, Kimberly, and Gregory Phelan, Zachary and Justin Fancher all of Warnerville; and two sisters: Elizabeth Zeller of Florida, and Alma Binger of Warnerville.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Warnerville United Methodist Church, State Route 7, Warnerville, with Rev. Victor R. Zaccaro officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 6 to 8 PM on Wed. and Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. Burial will follow the service in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
