Kathryn Murphy Gorman of 40 Chrisken Drive, Glenmont, passed away peacefully at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 31, 2010.

Kathryn was born January 7, 1913 in Albany, NY to John and Catherine Murphy. Kathryn was affectionately known to her family and friends as "Coggie".

Kathryn lived and was educated in the city of Albany at the former Vincentian Institute. Kathryn married Edward Gorman, January 22, 1939 and began raising their family in Albany. Business ventures in the late fifties took Kathryn and Eddie to Cobleskill where they resided until retiring to Port St. Lucie, FL whereupon Kathryn established "Coggie's Cards and Gifts" in Stuart, FL.

While residing in Cobleskill, Kathryn was a member of the Auxiliary of the former Cobleskill Community Hospital, member of the Cobleskill Chapter of the Business and Professional Women's Club and a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church.

Kathryn was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward Gorman, in 1977 after 38 years of marriage.

Kathryn is survived by three children, Elizabeth Lamont (Dan), E. Michael Gorman (Eileen), and K. Pamela Lavillotti (Pietro); nine grandchildren: Wendy Flagstad (Poul), Kathryn Teal (Darryl), Seth Lamont (Jennifer), Sarah Taylor (Gavin), Tyler Gorman (Kathryn), Sean Gorman (Julie), Christian Gorman (Megan), Michael and Kaylan Lavillotti; and nine great-grandchildren: Connor Flagstad, Ansley and Graeme Teal, Hannah, John, and Elsa Lamont, James and Lyla Gorman, and Rowan Taylor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 3, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill with Father Thomas F. Holmes as celebrant. Friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Tuesday, prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
