Kathryn Ericson
Richmondville- Kay Jacobs Ericson was born in Mount Vernon, NY to John and Kathryn Van Orden on January 28, 1931. She passed peacefully at Albany Medical Center on February 3, 2012.
Kay was actively involved in the anti nuclear movement that resulted in the shut down of the Shoreman nuclear plant. She was a den mother for both of her sons in the Cub Scouts of America. Kay enjoyed traveling across the country with her youngest son, Jason, and their two dogs.
She is survived by her four children: Amos Ericson, Sr., Lisa Goldson, Laurie Lesta, and Jason Van Ericson; and her nine grandchildren: Danielle, Zachary and Nicholas Lesta, Amos Jr., Tami, and Kathryn Ericson, and Matt, Erica, and Jonathan Goldson.
A private graveside service will be held with the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Omaha Home for Boys, 4343 North 52nd St., Omaha, NE 68104.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill and Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh.
