Cobleskill- Mrs. Kathryn A. Averill, 56, of Edgewood Drive, passed after a courageous battle surrounded by her loving family.
Born November 26, 1953, in Amsterdam, she was a daughter of Gilles and Theresa (Hennelly) Carbonneau, who predeceased her.
Kathy was a 1971 graduate of the former Cobleskill Central School and in 1993 obtained her Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation. She served as a past president for the local CPCU chapter. Most of her adult life she worked in the insurance field, most recently as a Regional Underwriting Manager for Merchants Insurance Group.
Kathy was a member of the Cobleskill Volunteer Fire Dept. and a lifetime member of Cobleskill Volunteer Rescue Squad.
Survivors include her beloved husband of thirty-three years, William Averill; two daughters: Chantel Averill (Jason) Mrozik of Guilderland and Aimee (Joseph) Schlereth of Baltimore, MD; her siblings: Sarah (Jeffrey) Engler of Latham, Jacques (Sandy) Carbonneau of Houston, TX, Michelle (Gary) Tillapaugh of Sloansville, her twin, Elisabeth (Richard) Vogel of Pittsford, and Andrea (Alan) Case of Watertown, SD; three grandchildren: Elisa, Ava, and Jacob Mrozik; and 9 nieces and nephews.
Kathy chose to gift her body to Albany Medical College.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 13, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill with Father Thomas Holmes as celebrant. A reception will be held immediately following in the church social hall.
