Kathleen Marie Rivenburg of Cobleskill, died at home on October 29, 2016 after a prolonged illness.
Born October of 1949 in Albany to Viola (Chlore) and Hiram Lawyer, Kathleen was a lifelong area resident of Middleburgh and graduated from Middleburgh Central School.
With her husband, Karl, she owned and operated Karl's Beauty Salon and Boutique of Middleburgh for almost 50 years. With her sister-in-law, Rose Cain, she owned and operated Country Bridal Loft of Livingstonville. Kathy spent the last 20 years working at the Times Journal News Corporation of Cobleskill until retiring recently.
She is survived by her husband, Karl Rivenburg of Cobleskill, whom she married October 19, 1968; her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Alyssa Rivenburg of Schenectady; and a son, Kirk West of Rosewood, CA.
Per the family's request, there will be no public services. In her honor, memorial contributions may be made to Marathon for a Better Life, PO Box 268, Warnerville, NY 12187 or Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 125 Granite Dr. Suite 1, Cobleskill, NY 12043.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill and Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home of Middleburgh.
