Carlisle- Karen A. Nolan, 67, of Evergreen Road, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at her residence.
Born February 14, 1945 in Brooklyn, she was a daughter of Crescendo and Stephania (Orenda) Montano.
Karen retired from New York Army National Guard in Latham where she was an accountant for many years.
Karen was involved in several charitable organizations, including Parents of Murdered Children, Muscular Dystrophy, and Veterans.
Most recently she was active with the Democratic Committee. She was of catholic faith.
Karen was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Nolan, Jr., who died in 1979, and her son, Arthur Nolan III, who died in 1984.
Survivors include her daughters: Diana Nolan of Root and Laura Compton of Carlisle; her sister: Margaret (Doc) Cassimos of Hemet, CA; three grandchildren: Nicole Hill, Stephanie Easley, and Trina Garner; and two great-grandchildren: Marcus Merwin and Giana Adami.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 4, 2013 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill. Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill on Sunday from 4 to 6 PM and Monday from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, North Blenheim.
