Karen McFarland

Karen C. McFarland, 57, of Campbell Hill Road, died Monday, September 1, 2014, at her residence with her loving family at her side.

Born December 3, 1956 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of Doris (Gilmore) Ebert, who survives her, and the late Roger Ebert, who died May 1, 2013.

Karen cherished her time with the family and enjoyed sewing and baking. She would enter her wares that included purses, baby clothes and various other items, in numerous craft shows.

Karen was a member of the Huntersland United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, David McFarland, whom she married August 25, 2001 in Huntersland; three children: Philip (Dijana) Montero of Macedonia, Gabrielle (Philip) Haines of Coplay, PA, and Jennifer Montero of Middleburgh; three grandchildren: Emilio Montero of Macedonia, Charlotte and Grace Haines, both of Coplay, PA; her mother: Doris Ebert of Middleburgh; two brothers: Peter (Sherry) Ebert of Greenville and Steven (Suzanne) Ebert of Waltersboro, SC.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh where a time of visitation will precede the service beginning at 12 PM. Officiating will be Rev. Carol Coltrain of the Huntersland United Methodist Church.
