Julia Foote

Cobleskill- Julia Danforth Foote, 96, of Jay St., died Saturday, December 6, 2008 at her home with her family at her side.
Mrs. Foote was born February 16, 1912 in Jefferson, NY, a daughter of Everett and Anna (Cooper) Danforth. She was from a family of seven children, four of which have predeceased her, Eloise Danforth Weaver, Grace Davenport, Alice Danforth, and George Danforth.
Mrs. Foote graduated from Jefferson High School, Stamford Training Class, and SUNY at Oneonta. She retired in 1976 from 26 years of teaching kindergarten in Richmondville Central School.
Mrs. Foote was a life member of Summit Grange, a member of the Schoharie County Retired Teachers, New York State Retired Teachers, Richmondville Senior Citizens, a 50 year member of Cobleskill Regional Hospital Auxiliary, AARP, Richmondville United Methodist Church and their UMW.
On June 29, 1932, she married Charles Foote and he predeceased her on May 30, 1976
In 2003, she moved from her Richmondville home to Jay Ridge Apartments in Cobleskill.
Survivors include her son, H. Edward (Janet) Foote of Summit, NY; her daughter, Avis Smalley (Neal) of Altona, NY; 3 grandsons: John (Dana) Foote and their children, Benjamin and Katharine, all of Summit,
James (Monica) Foote and their children, Travis Hewitt and Deanna Hewitt, all of Summit, and Jeffrey (Natasha) Foote and their children Hannah Rose, Charles, and David Foote all of Richmondville; her sister, Marge Dayton of Schenectady, and her brother, Paul Danforth of Cobleskill.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at the Richmondville United Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph Darmstadt and Rev. Victor Zaccaro co-officiating. Friends may call at the church from 12:30 to 2:00 PM on Saturday, prior to the service. Private burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Jefferson.
