Middleburgh- Julia Brigadier passed away quietly in her sleep on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the Robinson Terrace Nursing Home in Stamford, NY. She was 95.

Mrs. Brigadier lived in the Middleburgh area with her family for forty-five years. As a girl, she attended schools in Franklinton and Middleburgh. She graduated from the Danbury High School in Danbury, CT and later from the Hartford Hospital School of Nursing class of 1940. She was also trained in psychiatric nursing care at Bellevue Hospital in New York. Mrs. Brigadier served in the United States Army Nurse Corps during WW II, and for many years afterward was a registered nurse at the Schoharie County Community Hospital in Cobleskill.

She is survived by her daughter, Julia Ann Wachtel of Birmingham, AL; her sons: James and Ben of Middleburgh, and Paul of Guilderland; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin.

Private services will be held at the family's convenience. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer & Shaylor Fnneral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh and Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
