Cobleskill- Mrs. Joyce R. Terk, 73, of Hill Road, died Sunday, July 22, 2007 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown.
Mrs. Terk was born December 20, 1933 in Oneonta, the daughter of Edward and Gladys (Bloodgood) Terry and was raised by her stepfather, Joseph Sundike.
Joyce was raised in Oneonta and graduated from the Oneonta School District.
She was a receptionist for Dr. Lance Luria in Middleburgh and also had been an associate at Walmart for six years. Mrs. Terk was a member of the Red Hat Society, a volunteer at the hospital, library and Iroquois Indian Museum.
Joyce was an animal lover, an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and flowers. Joyce was predeceased by her first husband, Dr. Douglas George.
Survivors include her husband, Peter J. Terk, whom she married April 10, 1988,; her children, Debra (Yardley) Burgess of Auburn, NY, Lisa Tafuri of Sebastian, FL, Sarah (Eric) Sloan of Liverpool, NY, Douglas (Juana) George of Melbourne, FL, Donald (Kathy) George of Auburn, NY, John (Nicole) George of Phoenix, NY, Sherry (William) Cherry of Schoharie, NY, Faune Coons of Bearfoot Bay, FL, Robin (Dawn) Terk of Cobleskill, and Thomas (Kathleen) Terk of Cohoes, NY, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm Street Cobleskill with Rev. Jared Van Wagenen IV officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Plains Cemetery, Oneonta, NY.
