Schoharie- Mrs. Joyce Marie Stuver, 67, of Locust Lane, formerly of Fultonham, died Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown following a brief illness.

Born July 19, 1942 in Walton, NY, she was a daughter of William and Marjorie D. (Faulkner) Ackerley.

Joyce retired after eleven years from Walmart Supercenter in Cobleskill where she was a cashier. She had also been the secretary for Daily Racing Form for twelve years.

Joyce was an avid bowler, a member of the Middleburgh Golden Age Club and the Red Hat Society. She attended the Fultonham Union Church.

Joyce was predeceased by her parents, a brother, Gary Ackerley, and a granddaughter, Ashley Raynor.

Survivors include her two children: Rebecca (Kevin) Raynor of Fieldsboro, NJ and Jon (Linda) Benson, Jr. of Cocoa, FL; three grandchildren: Matthew and Travis Raynor of Fieldsboro, NJ, and Ashton Benson of Cocoa, FL; two sisters: Iris "Chickie" (Milton) Wood of Breakabeen, and Jacqueline "Jackie" (Kevin) Cotter of Johnstown; two brothers: Douglas (Betty) Ackerley of Gilboa, and Donald (Barbara) Ackerley of Hobart; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Carl Rhinehart of Fultonham.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh. Officiating will be Rev. Carol Coltrain of the Huntersland United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow in Breakabeen Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
