Warnerville- Joyce E. Miller, 89, previously of Route 7, Warnerville, New York died Friday, February 7, 2025, at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, following a sudden illness.
Born on May 4, 1935, in Cobleskill, NY, she was the daughter of Floyd Hotaling and Dorothy Shafer Hotaling. She was a graduate of Cobleskill High School, Class of 1953 and had been a resident of the local area most of her life.
In addition to being a mother and homemaker, Joyce also worked for Selkirk Hardware and Rua Hardware, both in the late 1950's and early 1960's.
Joyce was married to John H. Miller on November 10, 1956, at the Middleburgh United Methodist Church. They purchased and moved to their home in Warnerville in 1966 and Joyce remained there until September 2023. John preceded her in death on August 22, 2021.
Joyce enjoyed spending time with her husband, watching old country westerns. She also enjoyed gardening, antiques, and spending time outdoors. She loved spending time with her granddaughter, Katie and her greatest joy over these past twelve years was spending time with her great-granddaughter, Olivia Joyce.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra L. Miller-Pangman and her husband, Kip; granddaughter, Katie L. Pangman-Ventura and Joey Ventura; her sisters, that she was very close with, Alice VanBuren, Norma Ullman, Audrey France and her husband, Douglas; great-granddaughter, Olivia Joyce Valhos; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The family would like to extend a special "Thank you" to the Hampshire House Residents and Staff in Oneonta for allowing her happiness, independence, and socialization especially throughout this past year.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 11:00am at Cobleskill Rural Cemetery with Pastor David Houck officiating.
