Cobleskill- Joyce M. Ladd, 74, of Mohawk Drive, died Monday, April 1, 2013 at The Manor at Guilderland Center, following a short illness.

Born April 1, 1939 in Howes Cave, Joyce was a daughter of Wendell and Irene (Bowers) Schwartz.

Joyce was a lifelong area resident and graduated from the former Cobleskill Central School. She retired from Eden Park Nursing Home in Cobleskill where she worked many years as laundry aide. Prior to which, she had been employed at the Cobleskill Regional Hospital.

She was a member of the former Cobleskill VFW Auxiliary.

Joyce was predeceased by her first husband, Minor Salisbury, and a brother, Francis Swartz.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald "Jack" Ladd, whom she married September 7, 1991, of Cobleskill; daughter: Tammy (Tim) Davis of Cobleskill; her two sisters: Nancy Lyons of Richmondville and Linda Runbaldh of Decatur; two step-sons: Larry Salisbury, Sr., of Seward and Henry Salisbury of Sherman, TX; granddaughter: Ashley DeBartolo of Cobleskill; two step-daughters: Tammy Hack of Schenectady and Tonya Ricco of Schenectady; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill where a period of visitation will be held prior to the service from 6 to 7 PM. Officiating will be Rev. Allison Zbicz Michael of Zion/St. John's Lutheran Church in Seward. Cremation will follow the service and private inurnment will be at Lawyersville Cemetery.
