Richmondville- Josephine Breglia of Beards Hollow Rd in Richmondville passed away peacefully on Sunday December 18th, 2022.
She was a lover of nature and all wildlife, and was an avid gardener and walker. She especially loved birds and sharing her gardens with others. She enjoyed collecting bottles, knick knacks and thrift store shopping, and the long drives it often took to find these treasures. She was talented in her drawing and sketching skills as well. She lived 91 good years and was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and even strangers, animals and plants. She was also a published author of the children's book "The Adventures of Poke-Sa'Baar." In her later years she worked at The Everything Shop in Cobleskill, and was a member of the Seniors Group. She loved to play Bingo regularly and was an advocate for the many local events held in Cobleskill. She especially loved the annual Arts in the Park Concert Series.
Josephine deeply loved her children and grandchildren. She was an amazing mother to her family and a kind soul to all. She is survived by 3 children, Michael Breglia of Summit, NY; Anna Deane of Asheville, NC; Fred Breglia of Fultonville, NY; and her 4 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Ferdinand Breglia.
Donations in Josephine's memory can be sent to Landis Arboretum or Schoharie County Animal Shelter.
There are no formal services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY 12043.
