Joseph V. Vitola, Jr., 79, of State Highway 165, Cherry Valley, New York died Friday, August 2, 2024 at Cooperstown Center.
Born on August 11, 1944 in Manhattan, NY, he was the son of Joseph V. Vitola, Sr. and Rose Iacono Vitola. He was a graduate of Kingspark RJO. He had been a resident of the Cherry Valley area for the past 30 years, previously residing in Sharon Springs.
He worked with his father for Vitola Plumbing and Heating and was a plumber for Stony Brook University Hospital. He also drove an armored truck for a period of time.
He was of Catholic faith.
Joseph was an avid hunter. He loved to cook and enjoyed socializing.
His parents; brother, Phil Vitola; and sister, Mimi Griffin predeceased him.
Joseph is survived by his children, Peter (Kerry) Vitola, Gina (Matt) Garner, Janna (Kevin) Zeller; grandchildren, Matthew Garner, Jr., Devin Garner, Isabella Vitola, Sophia Vitola, Peter Vitola, Jada Zeller, and Adam Zeller.
Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
