West Fulton- Joseph T. Keefe, 82, of Sawyer Hollow Road, died Monday, November 1, 2010 at his residence with his wife at his side.
Born November 11, 1927 in Boston, MA., he was a son of Joseph P. and Madeline (Melanson) Keefe.
Joseph was a United States Navy veteran, proudly serving his country from 1946 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1948.
He was employed by Boston Edison Company as a linesman and retired as a trouble shooter after thirty-seven years of service. After retirement, Joe moved from Natick, MA to West Fulton, NY, where he and his wife rebuilt an old house and lived for half of each year. The rest of the year was spent in his North Fort Myers, FL. home. He enjoyed home improvement and other building projects around his homes.
He also enjoyed time spent traveling and scuba diving with his wife.
Joe was predeceased by two sisters: Marilyn Fournier and Eileen Bracken, and a brother, Donald.
Survivors include his wife, Marianne (Poole) Keefe of North Fort Myers, FL, and West Fulton, NY; his children: Leslie Keefe of Pittsboro, NC, Joseph Keefe of Hopkinton, MA, Paul Keefe of Nacogdoches, TX, Lawrence Keefe of Norfolk, VA, David Keefe of Portland, OR, Luann Cosentino of Mendon, MA, Kevin Keefe of Wrentham, MA and Douglas Keefe of Nacogdoches, TX; a stepson, Jeffrey Dickens of Winchendon, MA; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters: Pauline Kryzak of Natick, MA, Lorraine Keefe of Framingham, MA, and Judy Phillips of Upton, MA; two brothers: Michael J. O'Keefe of Marshfield, MA and Thomas Keefe of Wakefield, RI; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday November 13, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church, 360 Water Street, Framingham, MA. A time for visitation and refreshments will also be held at the church, following the service.
