Joseph Hornauer Jr

STILLWATER - Joseph G. Hornauer, Jr., 64, passed away Sunday, May 14th, at his home of natural causes.

Born in Cobleskill Oct 23, 1952, son of Mrs. Mary Bruce Hornauer of Cobleskill and the late Joseph Hornauer, Sr.

Joe proudly wore the title of first class machinist at the Watervliet, NY Arsenal for over 30 years, after an internship at General Electric in Schenectady.

Joe was a loyal and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many. He was an avid airplane enthusiast, and an exceptionally talented hobbyist with building and flying the most intricate of model planes. HE enjoyed traveling to air shows throughout the East Coast. He had a great passion for traveling and was always up for an adventure. Joe spent many days enjoying the beaches of Cape Cod and the Jersey Shore, which were two of his favorite places.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Linda Dickson Hornauer, his son Christopher (Jennifer) Hornauer of Spring, Texas, daughter Nina (Kenneth) Kennedy of Sharon Springs, and his stepson Michael Dickson of Stillwater. Also his brother and best friend Randel (Roberta) Hornauer of Scotia, NY, sisters Sandra (Warren) Thom of Carlisle and Patricia (Clifford) Jones of Cobleskill, grandchildren: Kendra and Hayden Hornauer, Kadence, Kirsten, Kristina and Kenneth Kennedy, Jr., along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his Dad, Joe was predeceased by his loving son Jody Hornauer in 2002.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill on Saturday, May 20th at 2PM. Burial in Ames Cemetery, Ames, NY. Calling hours at the Funeral Home on Saturday from 1 to 2 PM.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to assist his wife Linda's future health care needs.
