Joseph Durller

Gilboa- Joseph W. Durller, 82, of Hubbard Road, died Monday, February 2, 2009 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital.
Mr. Durller was born February 14, 1926 in Montrose, NY, the son of Joseph and Edith (McCormick) Durller.
He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving from 1944 to 1946 as a Seaman First Class on the USS Whitewood. Mr. Durller was a former post commander and member of the American Legion Post 1764 of Conesville. He was also a member of the James Tanner Post #134, Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War.
From 1954 until retiring in 1989, he was employed at Wolf and Munier in Elmsford, NY as a superintendent.
Mr. Durller was also an active member of the Gilboa Historical Society and the Conesville Mountain Top Seniors.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ann E. (Bouton) Durller; three daughters: Elizabeth A. Coy of Poughkeepsie, Linda J. Maiden of Fort Plain, and Jo-Ann E. Bedard of Beacon, NY; three granddaughters: Crystal M. Rader of Williamsburg, VA, Tiffany A. Rader of Newport News, VA, and Cagney P. Donnelly-Coy of Poughkeepsie; and a great-grandson, Alexander James Rader of Hampton, VA.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 6, 2009 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River Street, Middleburgh with Rev. Gary Edmister of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Richmondville, officiating. Friends are also invited to a period of visitation at the funeral home on Friday, from 10 to 11 AM, prior to the service. Burial will follow with full military honors at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery.
