West Nyack- Joseph Michael Cortese, 56, died Sunday, July 12, 2020 in Miami, FL.

He was born January 18, 1964 in Manhattan. Joe was a graduate of Rutgers University and was employed as Director of Hospitality for Ecolab in Manhattan.

Survivors include his wife, Jane (Labuschagne) Cortese, whom he married July 2, 2020; his parents:  Joseph and Ellen Cortese; his children: Vincent Michael Cortese, Jessica Elise Cortese, Renee Diana Cortese, Rachel Theresa Cortese; grandchildren:  Remy Michael Cortese and Dylan Mathew Cortese; stepchildren: Matthew Attie Wagner, Sarah Rogers Wagner, Jessica Rogers Wagner; and siblings:  James Joseph Cortese, Stephen John Cortese, John Kevin Cortese, Jennifer Cortese Manus, Anthony Mark Cortese and Richard Peter Cortese.  He was predeceased by his brother, Michael.

Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held Monday, July 20, 2020 from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8PM at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.  Face Coverings and Social Distancing will be respected by all, as well as COVID-19 restrictions for out-of-state travelers. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for the immediate family with burial in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
