John Sielaff

Cobleskill-John E. Sielaff, 61, of State Route 10, died Friday, March 15, 2019 in the comfort of his home with family and friends surrounding him.

Born August 14, 1957 in Mineola, NY he was the son of Carol (Waite) and the late Ernest P. Sielaff, Jr.

John was the proprietor of John’s Septic Service for many years before illness forced him to sell his business.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aeries of Cobleskill #2695 and Cobleskill Volunteer Fire Department.

John was known for his sense of humor, loved camping, football – an avid Jets fan, baseball – cheering on his Mets team, Nascar, and music, especially the Rolling Stones.  Most of all, John treasured the time spent with family and friends.

Left cherishing his memories are his wife, Tammy-Jo (Petteys) Sielaff, whom he married July 2, 1983; his children:  Joshua (Amy) Sielaff of Utica and her children, Preston and Kassidee, Courtney (Rick) Murphy of Penn Yan and their son, Cole; his mother, Carol (Waite) Sielaff of Richmondville; his brother, Peter (Darla) Sielaff of Trumansburg; sister, Lenore (Bob) Sossei of Richmondville; two nieces: Andrea Sielaff and Mckayla Sossei; a nephew, Kyle Sielaff; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at 1PM on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Cobleskill Volunteer Fire Department, 610 E. Main St., Cobleskill, where a period of visitation will be held from 11AM to 1pm, prior to the service.  A Fireman’s Service and Eagles Service will also take place.
