Fultonham: John C. Krol, 99, of Pleasant Valley Road, died Thursday, July 15, 2016 at his home.
John was born on November 22, 1916 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, the son of Paul and Antonina (Ferenc) Krol.
He grew up in Windsor, Ontario, Canada and enjoyed playing baseball. John was so talented at baseball that Ford Motor Co. of Canada selected him to play on their corporate team. John left the team to serve in the Royal Canadian Armed Forces during World War II. Following his service, he returned to Ford, transferred to Michigan and became a naturalized U.S. citizen.
John worked as a machinist and tool maker before becoming a machine salesman. He worked for various companies before finally retiring, at age 88, from NEMTEC, Inc., based in Cheshire, CT.
John raised his family in Grosse Ile, MI. and enjoyed spending time at the family's cottage on Lake Huron and wintering in Florida. He moved to Fultonham in 2005.
In his leisure, John enjoyed building Grandfather clocks and tinkering with electronics.
John was predeceased in 2010 by his wife, Theresa, whom he married in 1952; sister: Helen Bidnock; and brothers: Charles Krol, Joseph Krol.
He is survived by his daughters: Deborah Krol of Fultonham, Linda (Roy) Gazzola of Tillsonburg, Canada; grandson: Blake (Sandy) Kazensky of Chesterfiedl, VA; great-grandson: Jake Kazensky of Columbus, OH.; nieces, nephews and cousins.
All services will be held privately, at the family's convenience.
