John Patrick Donohue, 80, of Cobleskill, recently living at Cooperstown Center in Cooperstown, died July 4th, quietly in his sleep.
John was born March 10, 1940, in New York City, son of Patrick and Margaret (Feeney) Donohue. He served in the Marines from 1957 to 1960. After the service he had a long career in computer programming languages, working for IBM, several major banks and for Schoharie County. John was a fixer and loved to tackle electrical and carpentry projects. He enjoyed fixing computers for his nieces and friends. A familiar figure around town riding his motorized tricycle, he loved both puttering with it and riding to the diner.
John is preceded by both parents and his beloved daughter, Robin. He is survived by his brother James Donohue (Patricia Hults), his sister Mary Parrilla, his nieces Ananda Kenyon (Joseph), Megan Donohue, and Danielle Devore (Barry Peters), six great nephews and nieces, as well as his many friends.
Because of the pandemic, no services will be held. Contributions in his memory may be made to Home Delivery Meals (Meals on Wheels), Schoharie County Office of the Aging, 113 Park Place, St.3, Schoharie, NY 12157.
Arrangements are entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
