Joanne Hall Von Culin, of Cobleskill, NY passed away on Saturday, August 24th, 2024 at the age of 78. Joanne was born on Thursday, September 6th, 1945 in Washington, DC to Richard and Marion Hall. She was predeceased by her parents, as well as her brothers Richard and Robert Hall.

Joanne is survived by her loving husband of many years, Elliott “Joe” Von Culin; her sons: Richard (Amy Altman) Von Culin and James (Stacy Metzger) Von Culin; grandsons: Joseph (Katherine) Von Culin, and their daughter, Charlotte, and Jason Von Culin.

Joanne had a passion for education and earned an Arts Degree from Douglas College in New Jersey. She worked as an Assistant Librarian for Spotswood Elementary School in Spotswood, NJ. In her spare time, Joanne was an active member of the Peaceful Day Quilting Guild, enjoyed sewing and quilting, and volunteered for the local literacy program.

She will be remembered for her love of spending summer vacations at the Hall summer home in Cape Cod, and for the cruises she and her husband enjoyed in retirement. Joanne found joy in attending the theater, with Proctors in Schenectady and Highfield Summer Theater in Falmouth, MA being among her favorite venues.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joanne’s memory may be made to the Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley, PO Box 40, Howes Cave, NY 12092.
