Jessie Bartholomew

Middleburgh - Jessie B. Bartholomew, 99, formerly of Clauverwie, died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home in Stamford, NY where she had been a resident for the past year.

Born September 30, 1912 in Middleburgh, she was a daughter of Fred and Lura (Almy) Van Aller.

Jessie was a lifelong area resident of Middleburgh and graduated from Middleburgh Central School. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Middleburgh for many years.

She was predeceased by her husband, George, in 1960. Most of her married life, Jessie assisted him with the daily operations of Bartholomew Commission Sales.

Survivors include her five children: Richard Bartholomew of Edgewater, FL, Claude (Fannie) Bartholomew of Middleburgh, George (Rosemary) Bartholomew of Middleburgh, Carol Joslyn of Richmondville, and Joyce (Robert) Roney of Middleburgh; her sister: Barbara Schrom of Middleburgh; her brother: Leon Van Aller of Sharon Springs; sixteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the United Methodist Church, Main St., Middleburgh with Rev. Jeff Rauhauser officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a time of visitation to be held at the church prior to the service from 10 to 11 AM. Burial will be in Breakabeen Cemetery.
