Cobleskill- Jennie M. Mahar, 90, formerly of Clove Road, died Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Guilderland Center Nursing Home.
Born March 3, 1921 in Worcester, NY, she was a daughter of Frank and Antonyia (Sustarsis) Koren.
Jennie was a lifelong area resident and had been a cashier at the former Save Way Supermarket in Cobleskill.
She enjoyed dancing, especially Polka, and was also an avid gardener and found fulfillment in working outdoors.
Jennie was predeceased by her husband, Douglas J. Mahar, who died August 13, 1991 and her daughter, Virginia Gaida in 2008.
Survivors include her two children: Richard (Joanne) Mahar of Beverly Hills, FL and Patricia (Emil) Galasso of Cobleskill; her brother: Lawrence Koren of Austin, TX; her five grandchildren: Anne-Marie Galasso, Michael Galasso, Sean (Colleen) Mahar, Dena (Chad) Thompson, Joseph Gaida; step-grandchildren: David Gaida, Laura (Robert) Channell, and Kim (Eric) Sieber; nine great-grandchildren: Cody, Sam, Emily, Julian, and Andrew Galasso, Aidan and Lucas Mahar, Nathan and Owen Thompson.
