Port Charlotte, FL - Jeffrey J. Scudder, 65, of Port Charlotte, Fl, passed away on July 22, 2014.
He was born March 1, 1949 in Margaretville, NY and was the son of John and Katherine Scudder, who preceded him in death in 1994 and 1995 respectfully.
Jeffrey was a United States Navy veteran serving from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1976. He enjoyed playing golf at Sunny Breeze Golf Course and was a member of three bowling leagues.
Jeffrey is survived by his sister, Karen Symonds of Franklin, NC, two brothers, Thomas Scudder of Port Charlotte, FL and Timothy Scudder of Schoharie, NY, 15 nieces and nephews as well as 20 great nieces and nephews.
Jeffrey was a loving brother and uncle who will be greatly missed by everyone that loved and knew him.
Services will be held in Port Charlotte, FL on Friday, July 25th and Saturday, July 26th. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 11:00 am in Halcottsville Rural Cemetery, Old River Road, Halcottsville, NY with Rev. Lawrence Dunlap of the Margaretville United Methodist Church officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to your local American Legion Post.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street of Cobleskill, NY and Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home of Middleburgh, NY.
