Jeffrey Morissette

Cobleskill - Jeffrey T. Morissette, 25, of Hubb Shutts Road, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Albany Medical Center with his loving family at his side.

Jeffrey was born June 20, 1991 in Oneonta and is the son of Frank and Brenda (Ackley) Morissette. He was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School and Hudson Valley Community College. He achieved the highest rank of Boy Scout, the Eagle Scout.

He was a hard working young gentleman, passionate and dedicated to the family business, Morissette Custom Tree Service. He spent many long hours working alongside his family and took great pride in doing the job right. He also worked as a field designer for National Grid and previously was employed at Eureka Farms and Superior Housing.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, demolition derbies, car racing, snowmobiling, water sports, and four wheeling. He did mechanical work in the shop with his father.

With a positive attitude, Jeffrey fought brain cancer long and hard over the past four years.

Cherishing the memories of this awesome boy are his parents: Frank and Brenda (Ackley) Morissette and his sister, Kelly Morissette of Howes Cave; maternal grandmother, Mary Fredenburg of Cobleskill; paternal grandparents, John and Jennifer Morissette, Sr of Otego; several aunts, uncles and cousins along with his girlfriend, Joslyn Mabie.

A funeral service will be held on at 4 PM on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Fusion Community Church, 375 N. Grand St., #3, Cobleskill with Rev. Andrew Fetter officiating. A celebration of life will follow from 4:30 to 7 PM at the church. Private burial will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations in Jeffrey's memory be made to Marathon for a Better Life, PO Box 268, Warnerville, NY 12187.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
