Jeffrey Lawyer

Cobleskill - Jeffrey F. Lawyer, 48, passed away at home on February 22, 2013 after a brief, but courageous fight against pancreatic cancer with his family at his side. Born in Cobleskill, on September 26, 1964, he was an area resident all his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing, as well as, spending time with family.

He was the younger son of Robert R. and Aranka (Vincze) Lawyer, Sr. of Richmondville. He graduated in 1982 from the former Richmondville Central School. He attended North Country Community College and SUNY Cortland. Jeff was employed by CSX Transportation in Selkirk as a train dispatcher, and previously with the D&H Railroad and Conrail. He was a member of the Cobleskill Golf and Country Club and the Richmondville Fish and Game Club. He was a lifelong member of Bobs' Lodge Hunting and Fishing Club.

Jeff is survived by his wife of fifteen years, Lynette S.B. Lawyer of Cobleskill, whom he married on August 30, 1997 in Cobleskill; loving children, daughter Haley 7, and son Kyle 4; his parents, Robert and Aranka Lawyer, Sr. of Richmondville; his brother, Robert Lawyer, Jr. of Tupper Lake; his grandmother, Muriel Ross of Oneonta; his mother-in-law, Carol Bader (Ron Erb) of Seward; his father-in-law, Conrad Bader of Albany; his sister-in-law, Janice Bader of Massachusetts; and his brother-in-law, Michael Brizzee of Cobleskill. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and two nieces and two nephews: Robert Lawyer, III and Amber Lawyer of Tupper Lake and Kimberly and Jason Brizzee of Cobleskill. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Frank and Aranka Vincze of Laurens and Dorothy Fedyk of Seward; and his sister-in-law, Julie Brizzee of Cobleskill.

Jeff will be missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill with Gary Surman officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the church on Tues. from 3 to 5 PM and 6 to 8 PM. A time of remembrance will be held at 7:30 PM Tues. during visitation. Interment will be private.
