Jeffrey Kniskern

Cobleskill- Jeffrey L. Kniskern, 61, of Barnerville Road, died Friday, May 14, 2021 at Albany Medical Center following a decline in his health.

Born December 31, 1959 in Cobleskill, he was the son of the late William and Reta Mae Kniskern.

Jeff was a graduate of Canajoharie Central School and completed his Auto Tech Course at Montgomery VoTech during high school. He was especially proud of his ASE 5 Star Chrysler Tech Certification that he achieved during his 40-year career.  Jeff was currently working as an auto technician at Exit 5 Auto Group in Latham.  He made many lifelong friends at all the garages he worked at in the Capital District.

Jeff filled his life with cars, trucks, motorcycles, and the love of his family.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Sheila Coager.

Cherishing his love and memories are his wife, Mary Lou (Vacula) Kniskern, whom he married July 21, 1984; stepson Tim Coager (Donna Van Valkenburg) of Middleburgh; grandson Preston Coager; brothers-in-law Joe Vacula and Dan Vacula and Family as well as cousins.

Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 6 to 8PM Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.  Covid guidelines will be adhered to by all in attendance.  A private graveside service will be held for the family at Carlisle Cemetery.
