Jeffrey Cary

MARGATE, FL - Jeffrey A. Cary, 52, of Margate, FL, died April 19, 2006 at North Broward Medical Center after a long illness.
Mr. Cary was born June 12, 1953 in Cobleskill and was the son of William and Joyce (Slater) Cary, Sr.
He was a 1971 graduate of the former Cobleskill High School, president of the Class of 1971, and was an outstanding wrestler. He also attended S.U.N.Y. Cobleskill from 1971 to 1973 graduating with honors and receiving his degree in Culinary Arts. While attending S.U.N.Y. Cobleskill, he was a member of the wrestling team, made the Dean's List and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society as well as the Theta Gamma Epsilon Fraternity. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Margate, FL.
Mr. Cary is survived by his wife, Laura Holbrook Cary of Margate, Fl, whom he married on February 14, 1996, one daughter, April I. Cary of New York City, NY, two step-sons, Donald Holbrook of Rutland, MA and Brian Holbrook of Worcester, MA, his parents, Joyce and William Cary Sr. of Cobleskill, two brothers, William Jr. and Judy Cary and Michael and Susan Cimino Cary, all of Cobleskill, 4 nieces, 2 nephews and 6 step-grandchildren as well as numerous Aunts and Uncles.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2006 at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street. Cobleskill, NY with Rev. Marvin Batcher of the Warnerville United Methodist Church officiating and Rev. Franklin Wright co-officiating. The public may call one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will follow in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery, Turk Plot Section on the Cary Family Lot.
