Jeanette Silvernail

North Blenheim: Jeanette N. Silvernail, 95, formerly of North Blenheim, died Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Robinson Terrace in Stamford, where she had resided for the last two years.

Jeanette was born in North Blenheim on November 14, 1919 to Daisy (Kingsley) and Leon Neer.

She graduated from Gilboa-Conesville Central School and went on to graduate from the Eastman Dental Dispensary in Rochester and Cornell State University. Jeanette did her graduate work at Russell Sage College in Troy.

She worked as a dental hygienist and assistant to Dr. Arthur in Middleburgh and later as a dental hygienist at Berne-Knox-Westerlo, Gilboa-Conesville, Middleburgh and Schoharie Central Schools. Jeanette continued her education and became a Health teacher at Schoharie Central School before her retirement.

She was a member of the local, state and national Dental Hygiene Associations, the New York State Teacher's Association and the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority.

Jeanette was a lifelong member of the North Blenheim United Methodist Church and served as treasurer and trustee of the Women's Society. She also helped form the Blenheim One Room School House Museum and served as the secretary.

She was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred R. Silvernail in 1994.

Jeanette is survived by her friend: Maryanne (Frederick) Leppig of North Blenheim; cousins: Barbara (Robert, Jr.) Mann and William Kniskern, Jr. all of North Blenheim.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, December 4, 2014 in Riverview
Cemetery, State Route 30, North Blenheim, NY. Rev. Neil Irwin of the North Blenheim United Methodist Church will officiate. There will be no visitation.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, Middleburgh and the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, Cobleskill.
