Cobleskill- Mrs. Jean M. Wittnebert, 90, of Quarry Street, died Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital
She was born May 24, 1917 in Corona, NY, the daughter of Philip and Alice (Leavens) Farrell.
A beautiful, dynamic, intelligent, loving woman with great style, Mrs. Wittenbert was a secretary to the president of North American Company in New York City. Later she was employed by Jefferson Township in New Jersey as the secretary to the mayor.
In 1985 she and her husband moved from New Jersey to Cobleskill where she was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church.
Survivors include her husband, Robert F. Wittnebert, whom she married December 10, 1950; her daughter, Jayne Milak of Dingmans Ferry, PA; her son, Philip H. Wittnebert of Cobleskill; a granddaughter, Sarah Myer of Cobleskill; a grandson, Michael E. Wittnebert, currently serving in the US Navy in California; and her faithful dog, Tucker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM, noon, on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at St. Vincent de Paul Church 138 Washington Ave. Cobleskill. Celebrant will be Father Thomas F. Holmes. Spring interment will be in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, Cobleskill. There will be no calling hours.
