Richmondville- Mrs. Jean M. Mochrie, 69, of Summit Street, died Sunday, March 9, 2008, at St. Peter's Hospice Inn, Albany, NY.
Mrs. Mochrie was born August 11, 1938 in West Fulton, NY, the daughter of Howard and Florence (Barnes) Hamm.
She was a self employed home health aide and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Warnerville.
Mrs. Mochrie was also a member of the Richmondville Emergency Volunteer Ambulance Squad.
She recorded a few records as well as sang at the Cobleskill Sunshine Fair.
Her husband, Donald Walter Mochrie, Sr., predeceased her on July 13, 1995.
Survivors include her daughter, Debra Bartholomew of Richmondville; 6 sons: Howard Floyd Mochrie of Central Bridge, Donald Walter Mochrie, Jr. of Elmira, NY, Aaron Scott Mochrie of Richmondville, Ryan Dean Mochrie of Sharon Springs, James Sweet of Esperance, and Cherokee Mochrie of Richmondville.; a brother, Russell Hamm of Amsterdam; and 10 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm St. Cobleskill, NY. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 7 PM Wed., prior to the service. Rev. Marvin Batcher of the Richmondville United Methodist Church will officiate. Cremation will follow at Vale Crematory Schenectady, NY.
