Janice Scott

Richmondville- Janice E. Scott, 77, of Smith Road, died Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.

Born June 3, 1941 in the family home in West Richmondville, she was the daughter of Catharine (Miller) and Walter C. Lott, Sr.

A lifelong area resident, Janice graduated from the former Richmondville Central School.  She held various jobs in her adulthood, but that which was most meaningful  was owning the Boulevard Inn in Canajoharie and being an operator at Richardson Brand Company (former Lifesavers) where they made candy.

Cherishing her memories are her three children:  Timothy (Christine) Scott, Elizabeth Barr and Catherine Scott (Lester Dillenbeck); four brothers: Larry Lott, Richard (Martha) Lott, Roger (Gloria) Lott, and Walter C. Lott, Jr., her sister, Linda (Don) Filkins; nine grandchildren:  Tonia (Joseph) Malaniak, Michael (Amanda) Clark, Scotti Clark, Timothy (Beth) Scott II, Christopher (Danielle) Scott, Victoria (Matthew Edwards) Barr, Anthony Barr, William (Lily) Cochran, Tiffani (Ryan McCarthy) Cochran, and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3PM on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at United Methodist Church, Main St., Richmondville with Rev. Jeffrey Smith officiating.  Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the church prior to the service, from 2 to 3PM.
