Cobleskill- Janice B. Kropf, a long time resident of Cobleskill, passed away on May 30, 2012.

Born in Tacoma, WA on December 18, 1924 to Frederick August and Olga Olive Bjorklund Kropf, Janice was a beautiful and talented lady who worked for embassies in Italy, Moscow, and Japan before spending many years in New Delhi as an interior decorator for the U.S. State Department. She traveled the world, experiencing life and many cultures while enjoying the simple pleasures of a sunrise, the singing of birds and quite reflection and meditation. Janice helped to form the company known as the India International Designers in New Delhi where she created beautiful furniture and continued a very successful interior design business for many clients around the world.

Janice was predeceased by her husband, Biman P. Ray, her parents, her sister, Marlys and her sister's husband, Dr. Caswell Farr. She is survived by her brother, John Kropf, his wife, Sue (Shoreline, WA) and their children Leilani Earnes (San Jose, CA), Linda Campos (Hayward, CA), Roger Kropf (Albaquerque, NM), Dr. Mary Jo Kintner (Shoreline, WA), along with Marlys' children, Craig Farr (Lincoln, CA) and Marya Farr (San Francisco, CA).

Janice's family, her special friend, Dr. Hassan Ali Al Nimah (of Qatar), and a host of special friends from around the world were able to be with Janice during her final days. They will miss her greatly.

In keeping with Janice's request, their were no formal services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill and Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh.
