Janet C. Fortier

Warnerville, NY - Janet C. Fortier, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a long illness on Saturday, September 7th, 2024, at the age of 89. Born in New York City, NY on June 19th, 1935, Janet dedicated her life to her family and home, providing a loving and nurturing environment for her husband and children.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Raymond Fortier of Warnerville, NY; her loving children: Denise (Pete) Trower, Leon Fortier, Robert Fortier, and Gary (Kim) Fortier; and her grandson, Philip Pizzi. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, her sisters: Lorraine (Richard) Scorzelli, Linda McGarr and Marlene Constanza; her brother, Dennis (Chris) Deskovic, godson, Jeffrey Deskovic, and several other nieces and nephews.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Betty Deskovic, and her brother, Frank Deskovic.

A Memorial Service to honor Janet's life will be held at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, NY on Wednesday, September 11th, 2024 at 11 AM with Father Joseph Arockiasamy officiating.

Janet touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to her family. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
