Janet Dietz

Cobleskill- Janet F. Dietz, 74, of Early Woodland Apartments, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.

Born March 21, 1944 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Carl H. and Paula P. Freund.

A highly educated woman, she received her Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Fredonia College and Masters of Higher Education Counseling and Administration from Syracuse University.  Jan received her Medical Coding and Transcription Certification from Bryant and Stratton College and was employed for twenty years at Cobleskill Community Hospital.

Jan was an organ major and played various other instruments such as viola, flute, piano and others.  She taught both vocal and instrumental music and substituted in various schools.

Her love of Christian and classical music was often shared in different churches for Sunday services as well as other church events.  She enjoyed cross stitch, crossword puzzles, particularly the New York Times, loved horseback riding and was an avid reader of many books, most notably the Bible.

Sharing her precious memories are her husband of forty years, Roger H. Dietz; their son, Ryan P. Dietz of Lenexa, KS and his wife, Amy M. Dietz with their children, Peyton E. and Gabriel M. Dietz; their daughter, Kristin E. Warner of Tully, NY and husband, Joshua J. Warner with their son, Logan V. Warner; and her sister, Helga Freund of Phoenix, AZ and her husband, Jack Morgenstern.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Valley Bible Baptist Church, 745 Mineral Springs Road, Cobleskill with Pastor Shawn Foster officiating.
