Carlisle - Mrs. Jane R. Ziegler, 62, of Dibble Hollow Road, died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born May 1, 1948, in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Jane (Dzialo) Lang and Charles Lang, who survives her.
Jane and her husband moved from Queens to Central Bridge in 1969 and then to their current residence in 1973. When her daughters were young, she was active with their Girl Scout Troops and 4-H. Since she became a grandmother, she was involved with her grandchildren's activities and treasured the time spent with them.
Jane was a school bus driver for twenty-one years for the Cobleskill Richmondville School District.
Survivors include her husband of forty-one years, Robert Ziegler of Carlisle; two daughters: Christine (David) Palmer of Fairfield, CA, and Jennifer (Richard) Ackerbauer of Cobleskill; her father, Charles Lang of Sebring, FL; her sister: Carolyn Winkler of Sebring, FL; three grandchildren: Amanda, Richard, and Robert Ackerbauer all of Cobleskill; a nephew: Peter Rinaudo of Kingston, NY; and her mother-in-law: Margaret Ziegler of Corman, Long Island.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:00 PM on Friday, January 14, 2011 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill with Father Thomas F. Holmes as celebrant. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the church prior to Mass from 5:00 to 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Marathon for a Better Life, P.O. Box 268, Warnerville, NY 12187.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill and Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home of Middleburgh.
