Jane Morris

Middleburgh- Jane M. Morris, 91, formerly of Middleburgh, died Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Otsego Manor where she had been rehabilitating for the past month.

Born July 16, 1923 in Queens, she was the daughter of John and Marguerite (Hutchings) Mulz.

Jane and her family resided in Hauppauge, Long Island for many years before moving to the Middleburgh area in 1974. She pursued her passion of antiques and operated the Shadow Box Antiques from her barn on State Route 145. In 2009, Jane moved to Mount Vision to live with her daughter.

Jane enjoyed gardening, horseback riding and was an excellent seamstress. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Middleburgh.

Jane was a wonderful wife to her husband, William, who predeceased her on July 18, 2000. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Barbara.

Survivors include her daughter: Jane (Stephen) Sheldon of Mount Vision; a sister: Marguerite (Arthur) Gorton of Williamsburg, VA; her grandson: William T. (Lauren) Sheldon of Saratoga and their son, Henry; three granddaughters: Lindsey Sheldon (John Havlik) of Cooperstown, Stephanie (Randy) Garrett of Charlotte, NC, and Erin Sheldon (Robert Ives) of Saratoga.

A private graveside service will be held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery along with a private period of visitation will be held prior at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
