Sloansville- Jane A. Merwin, 64, of State Highway 20, died Monday, January 28, 2013 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown following a long illness.
Jane was born September 4, 1948 in Cooperstown, NY and was the daughter of Charles and Guelli Maria (Hulds) Dufresne.
She was employed at the Walmart Distribution Center in Sharon Springs, NY as a receiving de-caser until her illness forced her to retire.
Jane is survived by her husband of 46 years, Franklin Merwin, as well as her children, Maria Roe of Central Bridge, Lisa Compton of Canajoharie, Karitina Padgett of Sharon Springs, Edward (Jessica) Merwin of Sherburne, NY; one sister, Gerd Rifflard of Monticello, NY; five brothers, Charles Dufresne and Jerry Dufresne, both of Worcester, NY, James Dufresne of Central Bridge, Harry Dufresne of Delanson, Richard Dufresne of Tennesee; 13 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Rev. Pam Mikel-Hayes of Cobleskill United Methodist Church. Family and friends are also invited to a time of visitation to be held at the funeral home prior to the service, from 1 to 2 PM. Cremation will follow at Vale Crematory, Schenectady.
