James E. Walsh, 52, most recently of Wilmington, North Carolina passed Tuesday, May 16, 2023.
Born on October 22, 1970 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Francis E. Walsh and Eleanor Caton Walsh. He was a graduate of Middleburgh Central School.
James worked for Toe Path Industries. Jim’s favorite tv show was the Andy Griffith show, with that passion he admired law enforcement and the fire department. He was known around Cobleskill as "The Sheriff" and often could be found on “patrol”.
He was the Yankees #1 fan. James was also an avid fan of the NY Giants, Carolina Panthers, and Carolina Hurricanes. He enjoyed singing, playing guitar, and making people laugh. He loved to go to "the office" and was an extremely hard worker. He loved to go on vacation, fishing, bowling, riding his 4 wheeler mowing the lawn, and most of all his birthdays.
James is survived by his sisters and brother, Eleanor (Christopher) Klepper, William (Tina) Walsh, Marijeanne (Michael) Broadwell, Kathleen (Joel) Briggs, Anne (Stefan) Kovac, Patricia (Daniel) Ellegood, and 20 loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, May 25th from 4:00-7:00 pm at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 26th at 11:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul’s Catholic Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill, NY with Father Thomas Zelker officiating. Burial will follow at St. Vincent de Paul's Catholic Cemetery in Cobleskill.
