James Robert Tracy, Sr.

Delanson- James Robert Tracy, Sr., 79, of Gallupville Road, Delanson, New York, a US Army veteran, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at his home with his loving family by his side.

Born on July 29, 1945, in Staten Island, NY, James was the beloved son of Joseph John Tracy and Dorothy Wholihan Tracy.

James dedicated most of his professional life to the New York State Department of Transportation. In his early years, James worked for Proctor and Gamble on Staten Island, and owned/operated the Livingstonville Hotel AKA “The Hodie”

James loved his country and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was of Irish descent and connected deeply to his heritage.

On February 27, 1966, at Lady Queen of Peace Church, New Dorp Lane, on Staten Island, NY James was married to his beloved wife, Victoria Eileen Guidetti.

His greatest legacy is his united, loving family, all of which pride themselves on service to others, living honorably, and putting their faith and family values first. They are: his wife, Victoria Eileen Tracy of Delanson, NY; sons, James Tracy of Cobleskill, NY, Joseph J. Tracy of Cobleskill, NY; daughter, Julie Burton of Schoharie, NY; grandchildren, Ashleigh, Erica, Andrew, Dylan, Brenden, Emily, Maggie, Michaela, Shawn; step-grandchildren, Jordan and Hunter; and great-grandchildren, Caleb and Danni; sisters, Lynn Casey, and Janet Rogan; brother Jack Tracy.

James was predeceased by his infant son, Michael Tracy; and brothers, Joseph Tracy, and William Tracy.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 1 PM located at Our Lady Fatima Church, 1735 Alexander Road, Delanson, NY 12053.
