James Suiter

James Woodford Suiter, 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 4, 2018.  The love of his family and his faith in the Lord supported him during his many years of health struggles and ultimately gave him peace.

Jim was born in Pleasant Hill, TN on April 28, 1937, the youngest of five children of the late William and Elizabeth Suiter.  He was predeceased by his sister, Carol, and brother, Tom.

He was blessed with a large and loving family and will be forever remembered by his wife, Marie Pollard Suiter; his siblings, Opal and Bill Suiter; his children: Jennifer (Steve) Duvall, Jon (Karen) Suiter, Jeremy (Celeste) Suiter and Joanna (Jeff) Seaman; his 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. His second family, consisting of Gary (Tracey) Pollard, Diane (John) Irving, David (Kelley) Pollard, Debra Pollard, and 6 grandchildren, share in his loss.

Jim was a quiet Southern soul who appreciated the simple things in life – the birds singing, listening to music, cheering for Tennessee games and having a second piece of homemade apple pie. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always brightened a room with his smile.

He had many different careers over his lifetime, but was most proud to be a Veteran of the US Air Force.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Quaker Street Bible Church at 3 pm on Sunday, July 15th.  Pastor Marc Proch will officiate the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Quaker Street Bible Church, 10328 Duanesburg Road, Delanson NY 12053 or The Community Hospice Foundation (Schenectady), 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany NY 12208.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
