RICHMONDVILLE- James Michael "Mike" Rightmyer, 54, of Richmondville, died Monday, July 3, 2006 at his residence after a long illness.

Mike was born on December 4, 1951 in Cobleskill, NY and was the son ofRobert R. and Betty (Mickle) Rightmyer.

He was a lifelong area resident, graduating in 1970 from the former Richmondville Central School and was a member of the Richmondville United Methodist Church. Mike was employed for many years as a machinist at the General Electric Company, Large Steam Turbine Generator division in Schenectady, NY. He loved baseball and was an avid BOSTON RED SOX fan.

He was predeceased by his parents, and Salvatore and Marian Bencivenga, his father-in-law and mother-in-law.

Mr. Rightmyer is survived by his wife, Ann Bencivenga Rightmyer, whom he married on September 17, 1994, daughter Melanie and son Stephan, all of Richmondville, five sisters, Barbara (Barry) Ruland of Cobleskill, Sandra (Eric) Petersen and Linda (Lee) Moon of Richmondville, Karen (Bert) Bellinger of Summit, NY, and Brenda (Robert) Rundblad of Decatur, NY, four brothers, Gary (Susan) Rightmyer of Richmondville, Tom (Cathy) Rightmyer of Seward, NY, Rick Rightmyer of Richmondville, and Peter Rightmyer of N. Richland Hills, TX, as well as several Uncles, Aunts, Nieces and Nephews.

Mike will always be remembered for unconditional love for his family, friends, and the BOSTON RED SOX!!

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 6, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY with Rev. Ray Richards and Rev. Geordie Davies officiating. The public is welcome to call at the funeral home two hours prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Richmondville Rural Cemetery.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to "The Rolphie Fund", c/o Linda Karker, 665 Bush Rd., Cobleskill, NY 12043.
