James Pacatte

Howes Cave, NY- James (Skip) Pacatte, 72, of Howes Cave Road, died Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at his residence.
Mr. Pacatte was born October 15, 1935 in Pierron, IL, the son of Philip and Julia (Koch) Pacatte.
He retired from the United States Coast Guard as a Senior Chief Petty Officer, serving from 1954 until 1975. Then he was employed at the Physical Plant for SUNY Cobleskill for twenty years, retiring in 1996.
Mr. Pacatte was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Cobleskill. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 1261 of Schoharie, B.P.O.E. #2040 and the Fraternal Organization of Eagles Aeries #2695 of Cobleskill.
Skip enjoyed coaching Cobleskill Little League Baseball with Clyde Brooker for 13 years, Babe Ruth Baseball, summer basketball and assisting with Boy Scouts while his sons were members.
Survivors include his wife of almost 44 years, Patricianne (Raftis) Pacatte; daughter, Julianne (Daniel) Rohan of Howes Cave; 4 sons: Robert Pacatte of Howes Cave,
Ross (Kelly) Pacatte of Cobleskill, Randall (Donna) Pacatte of Cobleskill, and Ryan (Jennifer) Pacatte of Rochester; 5 sisters: Lenore Jerden of Highland, IL, Orleen Henry of Spring, TX, Millie Loyet of St. Louis, MO, Marilyn Walker of Elk Grove Village, IL, and Jennie Towle of Topeka, KS; 1 brother, Mick Pacatte of Pierron, IL and 10 grandchildren: Jeremy, Jessicanne, Jerrad, Erin, Gabrielle, Alexandra, Donovan, Alyssa, Aidan, and Grace.
He was predeceased by one sister, Doris Pacatte of St. Louis, MO and 2 brothers: Bernell Pacatte of Pierron, IL and Merle Pacatte of Wood River, IL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 27 at St. Vincent de Paul Church Washington Ave. Cobleskill with Father Thomas F. Holmes as celebrant. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM on Friday, October 26 at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm St. Cobleskill. Burial will be in Bramanville-Prospect Cemetery.
