COBLESKILL- James M. Johnson, 75, of Cobleskill, died Saturday,July 8, 2006 at the Samuel S. Stratton V.A. Medical Center in Albany after a brief illness.

Mr. Johnson was born October 28, 1930 in Bonifay, FL and was the son of George W. and Susan (Bush) Johnson.

He is a retired veteran of the United States Air Force having served in the German Occupation, Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Upon his retirement, Jim began a career as a medical equipment technician, first with the Veterans Administration and later for the Navajo Area Indian Health Service. He retired as the Chief of Biomedical Engineering for the Navajo Area Indian Health Service in 1989.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Ruth VanDeusen, whom he married on January 27, 1990, and their three children, Christopher, David, and Mary Johnson all of Cobleskill, three sons, James Mann and his wife Maggie of Lake in the Woods, IL, James M. Johnson, Jr. and his wife Sung Sun of Puyallup, WA, and Laurence P. Johnson and his wife Kim of Alpharetta, GA, and his grandchildren Jamie Mann, James M. Johnson III, Michel Renee Johnson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 10, at 11:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 138 Washington Ave, Cobleskill, NY with Rev. Thomas Holmes as celebrant. Burial will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Pyramid Life Center, Pyramid Road, Paradox, NY 12858.
