Middleburgh- James F. Cahill, 72, of State Route 145, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital.
Born October 8, 1941, he was the son of the late James and Jennie Isabelle (Peck) Cahill.
Jim was a self-employed painter all his adult life, operating his business as James Cahill & Company. A gun enthusiast, he was a lifetime member of the Middleburgh Rod & Gun Club and was a member of the West Fulton and Stamford Pistol teams. Jim was an avid hunter, enjoying the game hunt excursions.
He found great pleasure in being in the company of his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife: Mary (Yung) Cahill, whom he married April 12, 1980; his two children: Teresa Cahill of Stamford and James Shawn Cahill of Middleburgh; two stepsons: Ronald C. (Fay V.) Smith, Jr. and Roger A. (Shannon) Smith all of Middleburgh; granddaughter: Alexandra Bagley; and five step-grandchildren: Olivia M. and Chloe E. Smith, and Casey, Austin, and Sheridan Smith.
