Jacob Lien

Jacob M. Lien, 87, of Jefferson and New Paltz, died Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown.
Mr. Lien was born March 25, 1920 in Suldal, Norway, the son of Torkel and Martha Lien. He served in the United States Merchant Marines during World War II.
Mr. Lien was employed with IBM in Poughkeepsie for several years before retiring.
He was predeceased by his wife, Lillian (Christiansen) Lien and their daughter,
Anne Marie Lien.
Survivors include two sons: John C. Lien of New Paltz and Thomas M. Lien of Jefferson; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Jacobs of Cobleskill.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00P.M., Wed. Oct. 3, 2007 at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, NY. Reverend Jeff Jones from the Cobleskill Wesleyan Church will officiate. Burial of the cremains will be at the convenience of the family. Cremation took place at the Vale Cemetery crematorium, Schenectady, NY.
